Standard Service
The standard service offered includes the following:
1. Testing Critical Performance Requirements
Camfil Farr NZ laboratory provides testing using Australasian standard test methods to ensure that all cabinets validated are performing within the critical performance requirements of the applicable standards.
2. Testing of Other Requirements
Cabinet noise level and lighting illuminance is also tested using Australasian standard test methods. The noise level can be a useful indication of filter loading or of a problem with the function or mounting of the blower. And noise and lighting are important factors in maintaining operator comfort.
3. Other Cabinet Checks
In addition to the testing above, the following checks are made to ensure the system has no apparent problems:
Check that Prefilters and Filter Guards are correctly installed and bolts are secure.
Inspection of the condition of the workspace.
- Check that power outlet works.
- Check that all alarms work as they should.
4. Cabinet Cleaning
Clearing of the cabinet and cleaning of the work surface and under the work surface prior to testing is the client’s responsibility and is not included in the standard service. However, we routinely clean the cabinet after testing to remove any fumigation residues etc.
5. Test Sticker
Following testing of a cabinet, a test sticker is attached to the cabinet which indicates whether the cabinet has passed or failed the tests performed. If a safety cabinet has failed a critical test, a sticker indicating “THIS CABINET IS UNSAFE TO USE” will be attached to the cabinet.
6. Immediate Communication of Problems
The test technician will communicate information regarding any problem associated with the cabinet immediately following testing or as soon as possible.
7. IANZ Endorsed Test Report
A detailed report on each cabinet tested will usually be completed and mailed within 15 working days of completing the testing. The test report lists all the tests performed and the results obtained. A certificate of compliance is included for each cabinet complying with the critical performance requirements.
8. Courteous and Professional Service
You can expect our test laboratory staff to conduct themselves in a courteous and professional manner. If you have any complaints please advise us so we can take the necessary corrective action.
9. Validation Reminder
Your cabinet details will be loaded into our computer data base and we will automatically contact you before your cabinets become due for the next validation.
Optional Services
Internal Inspection
Inspection of blower(s) – visual check of blower
- visual check of vibration mounts
- audible check for rumbles etc.
- check working temperature of the motor(s)
Inspection of internal plenums
- removal of debris if required
- vacuum clean using your own laboratory vacuum cleaner if required
Other Testing
We can provide other testing (e.g. testing of UV lights by AS1807.23 test method) if required. Please discuss your testing requirements with us.
Maintenance
Camfil Farr NZ Ltd provides a repair and maintenance service for all the cabinets we test. We carry a wide range of filters so we can provide fast and efficient service to minimise cabinet downtime. If we do not have a particular filter we can usually order it in. We can also order blowers if required.
